Come join us for some radio fun on the Drill Field on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 between 2:30 and 4:30pm! We’re guaranteed to have some interesting-looking antennas and a radio going, so come check it out.

Spring 2021 meeting schedule

Welcome back to another semester! The W5YD Amateur Radio Club is planning on holding official meetings monthly during the spring semester. (Unofficial meetings happen more frequently, as members know!) We will be meeting on Friday at 4:30pm on the following dates: Jan 22, Feb 26, Mar 19, and Apr 16. Mark your calendars! Drill Field Centennial Celebration MOVED to Sep 30th 2-4pm

The W5YD Mississippi State University Amateur Radio Club will host an outdoor event on the Drill Field on Wednesday, September 23rd 30th from 2 to 4 pm. Stop by to say hello and celebrate the 100 years of Federal Licensure of the club. We’ll have some radios set up and we’ll try to make some radio contacts during the event. Hope to see you there!

Testing Session – Oct 10th, 1pm

Interested in getting your ham radio license? The W5YD Mississippi State University Amateur Radio Club will host a testing session at which you can pass the tests required to obtain your ham radio license from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission).

Location : Room 150 of Hilbun Hall, Mississippi State University Campus.

Time : 1 pm on Saturday, October 10th, 2020

What to bring: $15 testing fee and photo ID.

How to get ready: Try checking out Gordon West’s Technician Class license preparation.
